What do we do?
Composting
Composting is our hands-on solution to food waste and methane emissions. Our composting initiative involves:
partnering with local businesses/cafes
collecting organic waste (coffee grounds) and transporting them to composting facilities or farmers
reaching out to local farmers or community gardens in need of compost
By transforming waste into nutrient-rich compost that supports local farms, we reduce greenhouse gas emissions and model a circular, climate-conscious approach to waste.
Education
Education teaches students and adults about food waste, composting, sustainable living, and the impact of agricultural and food systems on climate change. It involves:
planning and organizing lessons and presentations
leading workshops
By focusing not just on climate change, but educating our community on how everyday actions and food systems impact the environment, we hope to inspire behavior change and inspire the next generation of climate leaders.
